Description
SerCom Series Universal PCI Multiport Serial Card is the ideal solution for any application that requires high speed RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 interfaces. SerCom uses the high performance Oxford OXmPCI954 chip with an on-chip PCI interface. It is a 4-port Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter which offers data rates up to 921.6 Kbps, 128-byte FIFO, and is fully compatible with widely used industry-standard 16C550 devices. SerCom also improves software and hardware flow control to speed up the data throughput. The RS-422/485 isolated version of SerCom provides 2 KV optical isolation protection for each port to protect connected hosts and cards from damage caused by any ground voltage difference or noise-coupling from connected cables. SerCom also bundles with a powerful utility that provides the self-diagnostic, throughtput analysis and COM port smart remap functionalities.
